"In a world filled with hatred, their only hope was magic. Believe and anything can happen."

Brooklyn, 1947. Catholic Michael Devlin witnesses a Jewish shopkeeper being beaten up by the Falcons' gang. Fearing reprisals, Michael tells his story only to his mother. It says that God will punish the guilty. But Michael feels guilty and visits the Jewish rabbi Judah Hirsch. It tells him about the Golem, a legendary creature that protects the innocent from evil. When Rabbi Hirsch is also harassed by the Falcons, Michael tries to summon the Golem.
