The film is inspired by the life of miners in the early post-war years of socialist Yugoslavia. Thanks to their efforts, they were glorified as shock workers and considered national heroes. The main character is a miner who, despite being glorified for his hard work and considered an exemplary socialist worker, leads a life that is anything but glitter and glamour.
