Shore Acres plot

Helen Berry lives on the farm of her father Martin and her uncle Nat. The banker Josiah Blake has his sights set on their property. He convinces Martin to take out a mortgage on the farm and use the money to fund an investment in oil stocks. When the oil company goes bust, he demands Helen as a reward for his help. She runs off with Sam Warren, a former employee of Blake's. It is feared that the couple died in a storm at sea because Martin interfered with Uncle Nat's work at the lighthouse.
