Shadows of the Heart plot
In the late 1920s, Kate Munro leaves mainland Australia to travel to remote Gannet Island. She works there as a doctor. Kate's modern side often clashes with patients' stiff habits. Vic Hanlon, son of Gannet's wealthiest family, has a crush on Kate, and hopes she will become his wife. Vic's brother, Michael, the priest doesn't get along very well with Kate. He and Kate are constantly at war, his traditional beliefs constantly clashing with her new ideas. But it is precisely because of the quarrels that they come closer to each other, and they start to develop forbidden feelings for each other. How does this affect everything and everyone?
