Shadow of the Eagle plot

The irresistible Count Alexei Orloff of Russia is sent to Venice to kidnap Princess Elizabeth Tarakanova. Elisabeth poses a threat to Catherine the Great's throne. Orloff, however, falls in love with Elisabeth. When Catherine finally gets hold of Elisabeth, she is sentenced to death. The desperate but noble Orloff offers Catherine to die in Elisabeth's place.
