Scattered Dreams plot

A small town in the South of America in the fifties. Kitty and George Messenger, together with their five children, form a close-knit farming family that dreams of a better future. That dream comes to an abrupt end when Kitty and George are falsely accused of a crime. The local court sentences them to a long prison term and places three of their children in an educational institution.
