Sayonara Kabukichô plot
The hotel that is central in this film is also located in Kabukichô, the entertainment district and red light district of Shinjuku in Tokyo. Over the course of one day, the stories of the employees and visitors of this hotel intersect. Toru is the young manager of the hotel and sees two unexpected guests appear: his girlfriend Saya and his sister. Saya has agreed to sleep with a music producer in exchange for a record deal. His sister is a porn actress and shoots a scene on the second floor of the hotel. Then a slew of more guests appear, including a young Korean woman collecting money to open a store in her home country.
