It is June 1941 and Sarah Bernhardt goes on vacation to Belle-Ile-en-Mer. She takes advantage of her free time to prepare for her next role. Her arrival is always a happening for the inhabitants of the island. She loves her rides with her horse Hippolyte. This year, Eugène, her faithful coachman, was unable to pick her up.
