Sam's Son plot
"At 17, you think you can conquer the world. At 18, you know you can. His wildest dream is about to come true."
Sam (Eli Wallach) is a weak character. He dreamed of becoming a writer, but never followed through. He has been toiling himself in a cinema for years and is constantly humiliated by his boss. When his son Gene (Timothy Patrick Murphy) witnesses this at one point, something inside Sam breaks. He vows that he will achieve something in life so that his dreams and those of his father can still be realized.
