Sa Raison d'Être plot
At a family party (Christmas 1980) Isa brings her new boyfriend: Brüno, a blond, tough furniture maker. Her brother Nicolas immediately falls in love with him. When Isa is killed in a bomb attack two years later, both men worry about her son Jérémy and decide to live together. In Nicolas' circle of friends, many friends die of AIDS. A young doctor discovers that people are also HIV positive through blood transfusions and finds that this is also the case with Brüno. Because she was not allowed to bring this out, she is fired on the spot. More and more often Brüno ends up in the hospital, but every time he recovers. Nicolas and Brüno stay together and get together every weekend with the rest of Nicolas' family and friends.
