Dre and Stacey have had a difficult life and are trying to raise their son, Nixon, as best they can. Everything changes when Nixon is hospitalized and needs a new heart. Because insurance won't cover the surgery, Stacey feels compelled to steal money from the strip club where she works. The money belongs to Slice, a criminal currently in prison.
