Rue des Figuiers plot

The story is set in a street, somewhere in the south of France, where Madame Farruggia, Djamila and her son Daniel, Mr Marfouz, twenty-year-old Norwegian and Fatima, the owner of the Breton Tavern, live together. Living together is like a very large family and there is even love between Mr. Marfouz and Djamila, until Marfouz decides to choose another woman. To counter this, the others in the building join forces. The women are in solidarity with Djamila's grief and the newcomer also wants to help them. The four women decide to plot against Marfouz and want to see Djamila avenged for the insult he inflicted on her...
