Rubens, Schilder en Diplomaat plot
The film tells the story of painter and diplomat Peter Paul Rubens. Rubens, who comes from Germany, developed an interest in painting at an early age. At the end of the 16th century he moved to Baroque Antwerp, where he only really received recognition for his works of art. But in addition to painting, he was also a glorified diplomat for the Spanish Habsburg masters, and he received diplomatic missions to France, Spain and even Great Britain. In addition, the film also focuses on the relationships he had with Isabella Brandt and Helene Fourment, among others. Rubens died of gout in 1640.
