Rose of the World plot

When wealthy Jack Talbot falls in love with poor Rose Kirby, he does not marry her, fearing his mother's disapproval. Rose later marries Clyde Bainbridge, who knows that under the terms of a secret contract, Rose will inherit the Talbot ironworks. Rose finds the contract, but distrusts her husband and does not use it, much to Clyde's displeasure.
