Rose o' Paradise plot

After the death of his wife, Thomas Singleton suffers a temporary breakdown and is committed to an asylum by his scheming half-brother, Jordon Morse. Although Jordon has been appointed guardian of Thomas' daughter Virginia, he eschews responsibility by placing the girl in the care of an elderly mother. He does not intend to bring her back until her eighteenth birthday, when she comes into possession of her mother's fortune.
