Rose-Marie plot

"She had never given her heart to any man. And then love, great and untamed as her native forests, came into her life."

Sergeant Malone (House Peters) and the effeminate Etienne Doray (Creighton Hale) are both in love with Rose-Marie (Joan Crawford), but she falls for Jim Kenyon (James Murray). Soon after, Jim is charged with murder, but manages to escape. To save him, Rose-Marie agrees to marry the influential Etienne.
