Rosamunde Pilcher - Wilder Thymian plot

Victoria Bradshaw was only eighteen years old when she fell madly in love with playwright Oliver Dobbs. However, he let her down and disappeared from her life. Years later, he suddenly appears at her door again. He tells her that he is now a widower and that he has his two-year-old son with him. They travel together for a short vacation to a Scottish castle owned by an old friend of Oliver's. What he has not told Victoria, however, is that he has kidnapped his son, who he also leaves behind with her when he has to head back to London in a hurry.
