Rosamunde Pilcher - Dornen im Tal der Blumen plot
Charlotte Miller is a young art teacher who has just moved to her wealthy aunt in the countryside to deal with her heartbreak. When the mother of one of her students dies in an accident, she becomes deeply involved with the girl Emily and her father Gerald. Gerald is increasingly attracted to Charlotte and she does not find it unpleasant, but for him it is too soon after the death of his wife and he takes some distance. That's convenient for Charlotte's ex-boyfriend. He comes to visit Charlotte and is even willing to marry her, but that doesn't make it any easier for her.
