How far can a person go in losing his personality and values?
A powerful film with convincing performances: Marco Giallini as a satanic figure in the role of an unyielding, ruthless negotiator who takes pleasure in inflicting pain and humiliation, and Claudio Santamaria as the student who struggles with his new job.
A drama, underlined by weighty classical music that comes into its own in a few poignant scenes, such as when Guido pours out his guilty heart to Rina.
Depressing but captivating. Jerzy Stuhr, as the professor, provides a brief comic interlude.
