"They called him Morgantani and to some he was a god ... but to one woman, Mister Morgan was a Man !"
Mr. Morgan washes up on an island in the South Pacific. The island is run by Pastor Corbett, a missionary who rules as a religious despot. Morgan stays on the island, despite his conflicts with Corbett, and has the illegitimate child Turia with native Maeva. After his death he leaves the island, but he also leaves behind his daughter. Shortly before World War II, he returns to discover that his daughter is having an affair with an American pilot who has crashed on the island.
