Because of all the fuss about 'Tookie' in December 2005, I was curious about this film.

The first half of the movie is really bad. The TV production radiates from it. Color filters, flashbacks, slow-motion scenes. The characters don't get any color.

Fortunately, there is a cover in the second part. Tookie and the journalist get a bit more color, good and interesting dialogues, more speed (without too many flashbacks and dream scenes). Yet it remains fairly superficial, but Tookie's ideals are given more space. The EO content is not that bad, by the way, I was once not annoyed by it.

Nice TV movie, which relies on some good dialogues and the acting performances of Foxx and Whitfield. Tookie's children's books will probably be better (can't be found in my library, which is a shame).
