"The big family"

The unknown and poor painter Johan Fahlen takes care of little Ninni when her mother dies. Ninni is paralyzed from the hips, but Johan promises her that one day she will be able to walk again. While Johan tries to make ends meet, Malinda Karlsson sues him for custody of Ninni. She thinks it's a shame that custody of Ninni is left to a slob like Johan, someone who can barely take care of himself.
