Ramona plot
"Helen Hunt Jackson's American Love Classic"
Ramona is the pupil of the dominant sheep rancher Señora Moreno from California. She escapes her cruel and critical tutelage. But now she'll never get another chance to find true happiness because she's a half-breed. Though she loves Moreno's grandson Felipe, Ramona doesn't want him to carry the stigma of a mixed marriage, so she marries the Native American herder Allesandro. Ramona is left unhappy when her husband is lynched by bigoted white ranchers and shortly afterwards her baby dies from injuries sustained in an attack by bandits. The white doctor refused to treat the child because he is an Indian.
