Purple Mountain plot
The year 1937. The Japanese army has penetrated far into China and has gathered in the capital. During the occupation of Nanking, the Japanese army is said to have engaged in rape, looting and numerous similar atrocities, including the executions of political prisoners and approximately 300,000 innocent civilians. In this chaos, a Chinese mother and daughter flee to a handful of remaining Westerners who are making valiant efforts to stop the violence.
