"I had a really nice father."
Tomek lives alone with his mother, because his father Alek left for the US with money. Unexpectedly, the man comes home with a bunch of presents, but he doesn't explain why he's back. Everyone seems happy, but there's something unsettling in the air. As time passes, Alek struggles with a strong addiction to alcohol, which gradually destroys Tomek's family and his childhood. The boy has to grow up very quickly and face a reality that no child can afford.
