Philippe Croizon, a 26-year-old metalworker at Fonderies du Poitou, had no idea that his life would be turned upside down on March 5, 1994. That day, the young father received three 20,000-volt shocks while trying to dismantle the television antenna hanging from the chimney of his house in Saint-Rémy-sur-Creuse. After two months in a coma, he awoke with all four of his limbs amputated. Thus began what he calls his "second life," during which he overcame his disability, met his partner Suzanna Sabino, and achieved a series of incredible sporting feats, including swimming the English Channel in under 24 hours.
