Pollyanna plot
After her father's death, Polly takes in her niece Pollyanna, more out of a sense of duty than she really wants to have childhood joy in the house. She takes Pollyanna strict, but notices that everything makes Pollyanna happy. Pollyanna loves to play the game 'Gladspel', learned from her father. That game consists of challenging the people around you to see life in all circumstances through rose-colored glasses. She even visits people with problems and teaches them how to be so happy too. Ultimately, her positive outlook on life, which she also radiates, turns out to be contagious to her environment.
