Pierre et Djemila plot

17-year-old Pierre lives in the suburbs of Roubaix, with his parents and Carole, his young sister. It is a place where problems often arise between two communities: one of French descent, the other of North African. Pierre himself is insensitive to the conflicts. He is in love with Djemila, a fourteen-year-old Algerian girl. Shy and clumsy as he is, he does not dare to approach her, all the more because Djemila also comes across as suspicious and anxious. But the feelings eventually get the upper hand and they soon become an inseparable couple. However, their love is not without problems due to the cultural differences and the tensions in their environment.
