Penitentia plot

Alejandro "Ale" Villacano is a young attorney who has landed a job at the prestigious law firm Keefe Briar. As a former convicted and exonerated felon, he is an unlikely choice for the firm. Determined to forget his past and become the firm's best associate, Ale is reluctant to help an old friend who is in trouble. Only at the urging of his mentor does Ale take on the case pro bono. For him, it's a matter of filing a few complaints against a local jail and then getting back to his new life. But for his client, it's a matter of life and death. No matter how hard Ale tries to resist, the urge to do the right thing and fight the good fight is too strong. Entangled in a case of corruption, power and abuse, Ale must decide what kind of lawyer he really wants to be.
