Pêcheur d'Islande plot

Brittany, the 1920s. After meeting at a ball, Gaud can't forget the Icelandic fisherman Yann. However, he has already promised himself to his great love, the sea. Unfortunately for Gaud, Yann spends the entire summer fishing at sea. Meanwhile, Gaud eagerly anticipates a reunion in the small port town of Paimpol. Gaud learns from her brother Sylvestre, Yann's best friend, what Yann's reason is for his reluctance. When Sylvestre is called up for military service, Yann nevertheless promises to marry Gaud upon his return.
