Paper Moon Affair plot

Affluent Japanese Keiko ends up with her Chinese husband in an isolated town on Canada's west coast. They have a distant marriage because he regularly cheats. To fill her emotional void, Keiko meditates by doing origami. When he leaves her in this strange little town, she wants to go back to Tokyo. Vern is the local police officer, who is also in an unhappy marriage with Lucy. Vern begins a sexual relationship with Keiko to fill the void in his life. The 19-year-old Hart wants to escape the oppressive life in the town and is also attracted to Keiko.
