Pampered Youth plot
The Amberson family is the wealthiest family in a small town in the American Midwest. Daughter Isabel is in love with Eugene Morgan, but his constant drunkenness creates a bad name and he flees the town. Isabel marries Wilbur Minfer, although she doesn't really love him. They have a son, George. At the hands of Isabel, George grows up a spoiled child and manages to eat up most of Amberson's wealth. Wilbur dies and Morgan, now a successful car manufacturer, returns to town. Isabel and Morgan reunite, much to George's horror. George is interested in Lucy, Morgan's daughter.
