Painkillers plot
"The cure is the curse"
After losing his son in a car accident, John suffers from a rare form of post-traumatic stress: incessant chills, nervous breakdowns and horrendous headaches. That's the renowned surgeon's daily cocktail. Even the most understanding colleague won't let him go near a scalpel anymore. John tries everything to ease his pain: drugs, anesthetics for horses, the collected works of Leonard Cohen… nothing helps. Until the day he injures his hand. When he licks his wound, John discovers that a dose of hemoglobin makes his pain go away instantly. A glass of blood group A+ finally seems to be a solution, but soon John is confronted with his real problem. Drinking his own blood has only a temporary effect. Mother Nature forces him to drink blood that is not his. Fresh blood, if possible...
