Pacifico plot
On the beach of Mexico's Puerto Escondido, a sleepy community where things rarely seem to happen, construction is underway on a house designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Ando Tadao. The peaceful coastal strip is a strange place to say the least for such a large concrete structure, and it remains unclear who the client is, but the villagers and workmen don't seem to mind. Based on the construction, we get to know three people involved, each with their own problems, dreams and fears. Seven-year-old Coral goes to the construction site every day after school to visit her godfather Diego, a bricklayer addicted to his telephone. There she also meets the carpenter Oriente, a wisdom-mumbling poet whom she hopes will become her godfather too, but who herself longs to return to his family.
