Over the GW plot
The film tells the story of a brother and sister from the Bronx whose desperate mother drags them across the GW Bridge to New Jersey in the hope that a revolutionary rehabilitation program is the key to their recovery. Tony and Sofia are on drugs. Their mother has tried everything to keep her children off drugs, and her last hope is a rigorous 30-day program in New Jersey led by the tyrannical Dr. Hiller. When a month finally turns into a two-and-a-half-year case, the psychological torture and false imprisonment they are forced into by the corrupt doctor threatens to do more damage than the most addictive drugs. The frightened duo are eventually convinced that the program saved their lives, but this belief eventually leads them to become victims of a horrific form of brainwashing. At the same time, they navigate a cult-like maze of confusion and an uphill battle to maintain their true identities.
