Our Town plot
The stage manager (Paul Newman) tells the audience a story about the fortunes of some residents of the village of Grover's Corner in 1901, 1904 and 1913. For example, local historian and Professor Willard, the editor of the 'Grover's Corners Sentinel' Mr. Webb (Jeffrey DeMunn) and the ever-drunk church organist Simon Stimson pass by. Most of the attention, however, goes to Emily Webb, the newspaper editor's daughter. She falls in love with George, the son of the local doctor.
