Otchuzhdenie plot

A man crosses the border in an old-fashioned car. He is Greek and over fifty years old. He comes to Bulgaria to buy a child. Jorgos has built a secret compartment in the trunk of the car, camouflaged as a gas tank, so that he can smuggle the child undetected. However, the baby has not yet been born and the Greek has to wait in a remote house in the mountains, along with the mother-to-be, her deaf-mute brother and the midwife. The contractions begin during a stormy night.
