Orinoko, Nuevo Mundo plot

The Orinoko River plays the leading role in this experimental, dialogue-less film. Symbolically, the river is ascended and history traverses from before the conquest of the continent by the Spaniards up to the scientific expeditions of Alexander de Humboldt and Aimé Bompland. This visionary bird's-eye view is taken by a shaman, so that mythological figures also pass by along the way. Including a woman named America, who turns out to be the literal source of the Orinoko.
