Operation Haylift plot
Due to the very harsh winter, some farmers in the vast plains in the mountains have already seen much of their cattle lost. Trucks full of animal feed are unable to reach these livestock and they are now in danger of starvation. The Masters is one such bereaved farming family, and son Bill, a former World War II pilot, reconnects with his former Air Force comrade Tom. Following the example of the food drops with Air Force planes in Berlin in 1948, Bill suggests doing the same for the cattle and both war veterans propose this rescue to the Air Force Command. The assistance of Bill's sister Clara Masters and friend Pat Rogers could be instrumental in this.
