Oniichan no Hanabi plot
Hana moved with her family to a small fishing village in Niigata five years earlier and is recovering from six months of treatment for leukemia. Every year the town organizes the "Katakai Matsuri", which is known for the largest fireworks show in the world. Hana's older brother Taro is a 'hikikomori', one of the many Japanese youths who has withdrawn to his own room. However, he wants to make his sister happy and promises to try to visit the fireworks festival with her.
