An old man buries a placenta under a lemon tree. Later we see his hand moving gently back and forth over a lemon on a table, as if he wanted to massage it. In addition to his job at the bakery, Maea also works as a traditional midwife, a job he needs to expertly massage pregnant women's bellies. At his home, pale stains on the wall attest to photos that have been removed. Maea has distanced herself from his family after a traumatic and violent episode. But one day his daughter Ilisa shows up at the door. She is pregnant and also abused by her boyfriend...
