""Get me out before they kill me!""

Paul Joleson is serving a prison sentence for killing his wife in a fit of rage. He engages in solitary activities such as reading in his cell or the prison library and works as a clerk in the office. Expecting some money to be sent to him in the mail, he buys cigarettes from Chilly, another inmate. But that money is not forthcoming, he tells his creditor that he cannot pay it and from then on the interest rises daily...
