Off Season plot

After losing their son in a bizarre accident, Stephen and Molly Cohen retreat to the seemingly peaceful beach town of Montauk on Long Island, hoping to find a peaceful place to heal and process their grief. Their attempt to escape their painful past is interrupted when a new family moves into the house next door. The presence and behavior of this strange family unexpectedly trigger a flood of painful memories for Stephen and Molly, forcing them to confront the unresolved trauma of their son's death and the strain it has placed on their marriage.
