The story of Kaspar Hauser, the German 'wild child' who for sixteen years grew up in silence and almost in the dark in a stable with only a wooden horse for company. In the largely black-and-white Spanish film shot on 16mm, we see impressions of his life and 'civilization process'. On the one hand, there is omnipresent nature, a world without language, and on the other we see him joined by a number of archetypes: a masked, sadomasochistic dwarf, a vamp-like girl, a sailor and a man in Batman suit.
