This film is a sequel to 'Deus eo diabo na terra do sol' and is set 29 years after Antonio das Mortes killed the last of the Cangaceiros. Since then, Antonio has lost the meaning of life. Then a new new Cangaceiro named Coirana appears to have emerged. Antonio das Mortes is asked to kill him. He accepts the assignment enthusiastically. But Coirana turns out to be a real idealist and makes Antonio think.
