November 1828 plot

"November 1828" is set during the Javanese War (1825-1930). The war started because of disagreements within the court of Yogyakarta. It was also a reaction of the Javanese to the way in which the Dutch rulers collected their tax money. In the film we follow the struggles of 'ordinary' Javanese and the contradictions between different layers of the population and cultures.
