Concetta, a widow with two children, lives in a fishing village on an island off the coast of Naples. It's a hard life in that small fishing community. She lives there with Domenico, a rough and clumsy fisherman who is obsessed with his almost angelic stepdaughter Caterina. However, the peace is preserved. Until that one stormy night.
