Notes sur le Rire plot

For his first post, Pascal Damien, a very young and diploma-laden teacher, is nominated by Raymond Blanchard, his former director of the university. The friendship that unites the two men is a common admiration for the work of the 'great' provincial writer Marcel Pagnol. They both dream of a world of nostalgia, as described by the author in his books. But the reality does not stop the young professor from making a name for himself in a high school in Marseille, where he is confronted with a completely different social reality than that described in his works by the master of literature.
