Nos Héros Sont Morts Ce Soir plot

France, early 60s. Simon, a wrestler, wears a white mask and in the ring he turns into "The Spectrum". He proposes his friend Victor, who has returned from the war, to be his opponent with a black mask : "The Butcher of Belleville" But for Victor, who is still vulnerable, the role soon proves too heavy: for once in his life he would like to take on the role of the one for whom people applaud. Simon then appoints his friend to change the masks.
