North of Shanghai plot
When journalist Helen Warner exposes the illegal activities of a band of blackmailers, she is threatened by the crooks. But to avoid danger, Helen is sent on vacation to China by her boss. On the ship to China, Helen befriends the newsreel cameraman Jed Howard, but she keeps her profession a secret from him. Both arrive in Shanghai, just as war breaks out between Japan and China.
